Welcome! We're glad you're excited to join AMSRO. Local chapters are a great way to get more involved by connecting with other AMSRO members in your area. AMSRO chapters host events, meetings, and provide a local network of like-minded peers.
ā
In the future, AMSRO will be working to develop materials to support local chapters. Currently, a great way to start learning as a chapter together is to get together to watch the UTMB Seminar Series.
Check below for a chapter in your area. If you don't find one, consider starting your own!
ā
CREATE A CHAPTER
You want to create a new AMSRO chapter? Great! Make sure you're an AMSRO member first, then:
-
Email Stefan McAllister (Chair of the AMSRO Chapter Establishment and Coordinating Committee) at amsro.chapters@gmail.com expressing an interest in starting a chapter.
-
After the form is completed, you will need to get written permission from your college/university stating that you are interested in starting an AMSRO chapter. This is typically done through the Dean of Students or the equivalent.
-
Once written permission is received, a letter is sent to the President of AMSRO for approval and signature.
-
Once approved, you will receive a formal letter is stating that the chapter has been established.
-
All done! The chapter is announced on the AMSRO Google group.
